Hi! We're Debbie and Melissa—a mother-and-daughter team who share a passion for hospitality and helping families create unforgettable beach memories.
For our family, welcoming guests isn't just something we do—it's something we've loved for nearly 40 years.
Long before Beach House Escapes, Debbie and her late husband, Tommy, built and operated a family-owned RV campground and fishing charter business on the shores of beautiful Lake Ontario in Upstate New York. Their campground offered cozy cabin rentals, spacious RV sites, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that brought families back year after year. During the spring, summer, and fall, Tommy guided fishing charters on Lake Ontario while Debbie made sure every guest felt right at home. Together, they built more than a successful business—they built lasting friendships and countless family memories.
As anyone from Upstate New York knows, it's called "Snowtown USA" for a reason! After many long winters, and once Melissa headed off to college, Debbie and Tommy began escaping to Myrtle Beach each winter as snowbirds. They quickly fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle, beautiful beaches, warm sunshine, and welcoming community. Their days were spent relaxing on the beach, crabbing, fishing, exploring the Grand Strand, and enjoying the slower pace of coastal life. Before long, Myrtle Beach had become much more than a winter getaway—it had become their home away from home.
When Tommy passed away in 2018, Debbie wanted to continue the tradition they had started together. She and Melissa purchased their first vacation home in the beautiful gated community of Oceanside Village. It was everything Debbie had dreamed of—a peaceful lakeside home overlooking the pond and its beautiful fountain, where mornings begin with a cup of coffee on the deck and evenings end with breathtaking sunsets. To this day, Debbie still spends every winter there, enjoying the beach lifestyle she and Tommy came to love so much.
Although Debbie has since sold the campground, she still returns to Upstate New York each summer to enjoy the cooler weather, reconnect with lifelong friends, and visit the place where so many wonderful memories were made.
Not long after purchasing their first home, Debbie and Melissa realized they loved sharing their little piece of paradise with others. They began welcoming vacation guests, finding genuine joy in helping families create memories of their own. Hearing about family vacations, beach days, golf outings, and special celebrations taking place in their home quickly became one of the most rewarding parts of owning a vacation rental.
A couple of years later, when another beautiful home just two doors down became available, they knew it was an opportunity they couldn't pass up. Today, Beach House Escapes proudly offers two thoughtfully maintained vacation homes in Oceanside Village, each carefully furnished and cared for with the same warmth and attention to detail that has guided our family's hospitality for decades.
